Greenfield's Robin Spinks visited Palm Beach County in Florida for a site consultant community familiarization tour.
March 29 – PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLA – Since Site Selection companies negotiate and secure some of the largest economic development projects around the globe, the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County (BDB) brought 11 Site Location Experts from New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, and other parts of Florida to Palm Beach County for a behind-the-scenes tour at the 2019 BDB Familiarization (FAM) Tour. The consultants met with public and private sector representatives, experienced various communities, and previewed the county’s competitive business assets to ensure that Palm Beach County is at the top of the list for site selection.
The consultants kicked off the three day tour with a business financial services panel and dinner at the Hilton West Palm Beach. The next day included a full day itinerary demonstrating Palm Beach County’s “live, work, play” environment. From the Flagler Financial District, Brightline, CityPlace and the Palm Beach International Boat Show, to tours of companies such as Zimmer/Biomet, UTC Center for Intelligent Buildings, Scripps, Max Planck, G4S, ADT, Office Depot, Modernizing Medicine, and Venture X Co-Working space, it covered different parts of the county along with many different industries.
The FAM Tour concluded with a breakfast sponsored by Discover the Palm Beaches, and a panel of site consultants, which provided candid feedback pertaining to Palm Beach County’s business climate. This important feedback will give the BDB insight and ideas to further strengthen its expansion and relocation efforts.
"I've never had the opportunity to look at Palm Beach County from a business perspective. This has been eye opening and more specifically, the life sciences research that Palm Beach County has to offer is endless," said Joseph Gioino, a FAM Tour participant from Newmark Knight Frank Global Corporate Services located in New York.
“The annual program provides significant expansion and relocation leads for the BDB and this year’s tour included a new itinerary, reflecting the new growth that the county has experienced,” said Kelly Smallridge, President and CEO of the Business Development Board.
“As Palm Beach County’s official tourism marketing organization, we understand how critical familiarization tours are in raising awareness and building relationships with decision makers in key industries," said Jorge Pesquera, President and CEO for Discover The Palm Beaches. “We are honored to welcome some of the nation’s leading Site Selection Experts to our county, where they will be able to experience firsthand everything that makes our community a great place to live, work, play - and do business.”
